Haj policy

08 Jul, 2004

Haj policy for the next Haj, has been announced by the government; which lays down that 100,000 aspirants would perform Haj under the government scheme and 50,000 under the private scheme.
It further envisages the registration of private organisers who will form Haj groups on a private basis. There is a mushroom growth of private Haj organisers who collect millions of rupees from intending Hajis.
It is, therefore, essential that the Ministry of Religious Affairs should publishes the list of registered private organisers before the start of Haj applications under the private scheme so that any unscrupulous eventuality may be avoided.
I hope that the concerned Ministry would do the needful in the matter to safeguard the interests of the intending Hajis.
