Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that Pakistan is committed to realising the objectives of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (Saarc).
He was attending a briefing held here on Friday at the Prime Minister's House on the Saarc's Council of Ministers' forthcoming meeting due next week.
The PML secretary general Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed was also present on the occasion.
The premier said that enhanced regional co-operation would be in the interest of the countries of the region as South Asia is home to almost one-fifth of humanity.
He said that the country would extend full co-operation in achieving the goals, the organisation has set before itself. He termed the January's Islamabad Summit as a resounding success.
Senior Foreign Office officials arranged the briefing and was given to the prime minister in his capacity as the current Saarc chairman.
