The government will launch a massive polio vaccination campaign from July 13-15 to eradicate the deadly disease from the federal capital.
According to details, Islamabad will be divided into different striates parts and nearly 60 vaccination centers will be established in various parts of the city. About 150,000 children below the age of five will be vaccinated in three days, as 50,000 children will be immunised daily. To achieve the target 300 teams will be constituted which will go door to door and immunise the children. Federal ministry of health will also establish polio centres at the entrance and exit of the federal capital for the facilitation of travellers.
The government is attaching top priority to slum areas of the capital and the doctors who are practising in these areas will also be involved in this campaign.
