KAMPALA: Uganda's coffee exports last month rose by 8.9 percent compared with shipments in the same period last year, state-run sector regulator Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) said in a report.

UCDA did not give a reason for the surge in shipments. Exports of the beans in May reached 286,758 60-kg bags, up from 263,330 bags shipped in the same period last year.
