A National Academy of Performing Arts (Napa) will be established in Karachi. This was decided at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the National Fund for Cultural Heritage.
Rais Munir Ahmed, Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Minorities and Youth Affairs who presided over the board meeting said that focus of Napa will be on teaching theory and practice relating to the music, drama including theatre, art and dance and grooming the talent available in the country.
The minister said that all possible help would be given to promote and introduce Pakistani culture at national and international levels.
Grant for preservations of the Hunza Culture Museum, restoration of NED University old campus building, Karachi and preservation and digitalisation of heritage also came under discussion in the meeting.
