The Lahore High Court (LHC), while proceeding with a petition filed by a farmer Muhammad, suspended an inquiry before the district and sessions judge Sheikhupura and directed the Punjab Advocate General to appear before the court on next date of hearing.
The petitioner has approached the court against an office-bearer of Nankana Bar Association with a prayer to the court to suspend inquiry before the respondent district and sessions judge.
The petitioner's counsel contended before the court that the respondent first put the crops of the petitioner at fire and then tried to occupy his land.
The petitioner when approached the police and got registered an FIR against the respondent, he using his influence adopted a resolution from the bar against the petitioner.
The respondent also approached the sessions judge who started an inquiry into the matter. The petitioner prayed to the court to suspend the inquiry and direct the respondents to act in accordance with the law.
The court, after hearing the petitioner at length, suspended the inquiry and directed the law office to appear before the court on next date of hearing.
