Sindh chief secretary for timely completion of mega-projects

Sindh Chief Secretary, Mohammed Aslam Sanjrani has called for on-time completion of all on-going mega-projects in Karachi. He issued the directive while going through a report submitted by Executive District Officer (EDO) Works and Services, CDGK, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqi.
In his report, the EDO informed that Korangi Road from Hino Chowk to Korangi Crossing project, which started on May 6, 2002 was completed in March 2004. He said electric wires have been shifted while PTCL chambers are under construction.
The report said that in the second phase of Korangi Road from Kala Pul to Hino Chowk, 91 percent work has completed. These include carriageways, inter-sections, bus stops, culverts, road marking, footpath, signals, plantation while work on service road improvement, drainage and electrification is being done by FWO through DHA.
Shoaib Siddiqi said that work on Shahrah-e-Quaideen, which was started on February 22, 2003 is expected to be completed on February 21 2005. It will bring improvement in signal free traffic flow at Sharea Faisal, Shahrah-e-Ouaideen inter-section.
The Shaheed Sibghatullah Road (National Stadium to Drive-in Cinema) rehabilitation and improvement project will be completed on June 11, 2004. The physical work has been completed by 65 percent.
The 2.3 Km long Habib Ebrahim Rehmatoola Road from Shahrah-e-Faisal to National Stadium will be completed on January 15, 2005 while structure of FTC fly-over has been completed on July 5, 2004.
