Arms exports: Pakistan and Japan exchange notes

The exchange of notes between Japan and Pakistan concerning the contribution of supplies and services to the armed forces or other similar entities of Pakistan, took place on July 13 in Tokyo.
The talks held between Japan Foreign Affairs Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi and Pakistan Ambassador to Japan Kamran Niaz, said a press note issued here on Wednesday.
In assistance to Pakistan, these notes are intended under the Anti-Terrorism Special Measures Law to guarantee in relation to the three principles on arms exports and other policy guidelines.
The supplies and services to this country will be utilised in accordance with the charter of the United Nations and will not be transferred to the third parties without the prior consent of the government of Japan.
