KU and Nust officials discuss curriculum

A joint meeting of the National University of Science and Technology (Nust) and Karachi University officials discussed the existing curriculum/academic calendar and evaluation (examination) system in medical sciences.
The meeting was held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of University of Karachi Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Pirzada Qasim. The meeting explored areas for collaboration/linkage of students and faculties of both the universities both at under-graduate and post-graduate levels.
Leading the Nust delegation, Major General Professor Mohammad Aslam, Dean Army Medical College, exchanged views for split Ph.D. programme and short-term on job training of clinical faculty in the hospital.
The contents of syllabi for all years MBBS and reforms in evaluation system were also discussed in detail.
The members of Nust delegation also visited the departments of Microbiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Physiology, Biotechnology and HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry. Professor M. Qaiser, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Professor Dr Tippu Sultan, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Brigadier Professor M.H. Najmi, Zubair Babar, Assistant Professor, BDS Course Co-ordinator, Lieutenant Colonel Aslam Khan, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Major (Dr) Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, Assistant Director (Academics), Nust and other members of the faculties of both the universities also attended the meeting.
