16 Jul, 2004

Liquefied petroleum gas PG Distributors Association Lahore in its meeting held here on Thursday unanimously approved to raise the price of LPG from Rs 34 per kg to Rs 36 per kg.
The meeting, which was attended by Central President of the Association Mian Liaqat Ali, Chief Executive Haji Mohammad Yasin and other office-bearers, announced that fresh increase in the price of LPG comes into force from 15th July 2004.
"Parco and OGDC have raised the prices a few days ago due to which we are forced to pass on the difference to consumers," said the President of the Association. Moreover, he said that National Refinery and Parco have reduced their supplies by 30 percent, forcing the distributors to depend on imported LPG to fill in the gap.
According to the new price structure, the wholesale rate of a 45.400 kg cylinder (commercial) will be Rs 1,500, 35 kg (commercial) Rs 1,156, 15 kg (domestic) Rs 496 and 11.800 kg (domestic) Rs 390.
