All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association (Apcea) Chairman Jamal-ul-Hasnian has hailed the duty-free import of rough gemstones, saying the decision would go a long way in the promotion of the export of the country.
In this connection, a meeting of the Association was held with Apcea Chairman Jamal-ul-Hasnian, in the chair, announced full support for the policies of Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz.
Those who attended the meeting, including Khalid Sultan Khawaja, Dost Mohammad Khan, Mazhar-ul-Haq, Shafee Muhammad, Ibrar Sethi, Mamoor Khan, Shahid Munir, and Muhammad Asif Khan.
The meeting termed the federal budget a balanced one, and welcomed the incentives announced by Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz for the exporters, saying that the permission of the duty-free rough gemstones would go a long way in the promotion of the exports of the country.
It announced support for the policies of the government, and demanded that 0.75 percent withholding tax on gemstones should also be abolished to enhance the exports of precious stones.
