Ukraine, which harvested a record sunseed crop in 2003, cut its sunflower oil exports in May to 69,900 tonnes from 102,800 tonnes in April and 105,100 in May, analysts said on Friday.
Analysts from ProAgro agricultural consultancy said Ukraine's sunflower seed exports had also fallen to 20,800 tonnes in May from 61,100 in April and 85,400 in March. Analysts said Ukraine exported 682,600 tonnes of sunoil and 880,700 tonnes of sunseed in October-May.
In 2003 the country harvested 4.2 million tonnes of sunseed compared with 3.3 million in 2002. Analysts have said Ukraine's sunoil output would increase to about 1.5 million tonnes in the 2003/04 September-August season from 1.3 million a season ago.
