Seven members of defunct Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, an extremist organisation, were killed in a police shootout. According to a private television network, the seven terrorists were killed on Saturday in an encounter with police.
The names and other details regarding those killed were not available. However, sources said that the bodies were shifted to Nishtar Hospital.
It may be mentioned here that the government has fixed Rs 0.1 million as head money on the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen chief, Osama Nazir.
Osama Nazir belongs to Bahawalpur and was allegedly involved in attacks in Murree, Taxila and other cities.
Harkat-ul-Mujahideen is the splinter group of another defunct organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad, parting ways due to differences.
