Sub-committee formed to discuss 7th Wage Board Award

A sub-committee, headed by Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Aziz, has been formed to discuss and implement the wage board award.
This decision was made here on Saturday, after meetings of Special Cabinet Committee, established by the Federal Cabinet, with members of All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) and representatives of journalist organisations.
The meeting of Cabinet Committee, presided by Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz, was attended by Information Minister Sheikh Rashid, Minister Religious Affairs Ejazul Haq, and Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Nouraiz Shakoor.
Sheikh Rashid said he had been appointed as head of Cabinet Committee but had requested Shaukat Aziz to lead it.
The Cabinet Committee held three-hour long meeting with newspaper owners and discussed various aspects about the implementation of wage board award. After that, the committee held meetings with the journalist organisations and considered their point of view.
After detailed meetings with both the parties, Sheikh Rashid said, consensus to form a sub-committee was reached which would discuss the 7th Wage Board Award.
The sub-committee would include the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Secretary Information, two members of newspaper owners and two members each from the journalist organisations.
The sub-committee meeting will be called after the nomination of members from the journalist organisations and newspaper owners, the minister added.
The sub-committee will submit its recommendations to the Federal Cabinet after discussion on the issue," Sheikh Rashid said.
