Meeting of SAFA held in Katmandu

The 54th assembly meeting of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) was held in Katmandu on Saturday under the chairmanship of Safa President Badruddin Fakhri of the Institute of Cost of Management Accountants of Pakistan and was attended by the delegates from the accounting bodies from all the Saarc countries viz Bangladesh, India, Pakistan Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Safa is an apex body constituting of all the professional accounting bodies of the Saarc region. In order to identify the development needs of the region it operates in the region and conducts main body assembly meeting in different member Saarc countries on a rotation basis.
Before the assembly, three working committee meetings of the Safa on the matters of corporate governance, education and cost indexation of the major products of the region were held.
The assembly was addressed by Badruddin Fakhri, Safa President, Safa Vice President Nurul Hassan, Advisor Safa Ashok Chandak, advisor Safa, Pradeep Kumar Shrestha, President Nepal, past presidents Safa and head of accounting bodies of the region.
The Safa meeting shall be followed by an international seminar on "Enhancing Professional Images: Challenges and Opportunities in the region," on Sunday.-PR
