Government urged to give status of industry to LPG kits making

18 Jul, 2004

All Punjab Rickshaw Taxi Unions Federation has asked the government to give status of industry to manufacturing of LPG gas kits and also lift ban on use of these kits in rickshaws.
This demand was made by the Chairman of the Federation, Muhammad Javed Sabir at a press conference here on Friday.
It may be mentioned here that the federation was already running a protest movement to press the authorities for the acceptance of their demands.
Javed demanded that the fine for taxi should be fixed at Rs 70 and for rickshaw at Rs 50. He also demanded withdrawal of traffic police ticketing system and introduction of 4-stroke rickshaws instead of two stroke, check on people selling fake or adulterated mobile oil and disbanding oil advisory committee to check, what he said, unjustified hike in petroleum prices.
He said that they would observe hunger strike on July 20, in the provincial metropolis, to press the government for acceptance of their demands.
