Queen Susan, the wife of the claimant to Albania's throne, has died after the long illness at the age of 63, the royal family said Sunday.
Susan Cullen-Ward, born in 1941 in Sidney, Australia, had long suffered from lung cancer and passed away late Saturday at the royal family residence in the outskirts of Tirana, the office of her husband, Leka Zog, said.
The funeral is to be held on Wednesday in Tirana, it said.
A designer, Cullen-Ward married Leka Zog, the only son of the late King Ahmet Zog, in 1975 in Madrid.
The couple has one son, Leka Junior.
Albania's royal family lived in exile - mostly in London - for more than 60 years, after fleeing the Balkan republic in 1939 following the occupation of the country by Italian fascist forces during World War II.
