EAC to finalise industrial policy on July 20

20 Jul, 2004

A meeting of the Experts Advisory Cell (EAC) of the Ministry of Industries and Production will be held in Islamabad on Tuesday (July 20) to finalise the national industrial policy (NIP).
The EAC is in the process of formulating the policy, and arranging meetings with major the stakeholders from different sectors as well as representatives of the provincial government departments.
The first phase of formulation of a draft overall industrial policy has been successfully completed along with sector specific policy proposals.
It is, however, felt by the EAC that to translate overall draft policy and the sectoral recommendations into concrete proposals, another round of deliberations is necessary.
In view of the fact that sector specific recommendations are very important to provide level playing field to all sectors, sector associations have been urged to come out with written and practical recommendations.
The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry's (FPCCI) President has nominated FPCCI Vice-President Engr. M. A. Jabbar to participate in the meeting, which will be presided over by the Secretary, Industries and Production.
