Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) vice-president and Chief Executive Guard Rice Shahzad Ali Malik has expressed his pleasure over the decision of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi regarding setting up a garment city in Lahore for giving a boost to the country's exports as well as promoting the textile industry.
The chief minister has announced that the government will set up a garment city in Lahore in order to increase productivity in the textile sector by apprising investors and exporters regarding latest changes in the global market.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Shahzad Malik said: "I really appreciate the sincere efforts of the Government of Punjab for the development of export sector. In a situation, when foreign investors are showing hesitation in importing Pakistani products, such a step would provide an opportunity to the Pakistani exporters to bring their products in limelight. We really require such encouraging steps."
He emphasised that the setting up of the Garment City would prove beneficial for industrial activities. "The setting up of expo-centre would provide an opportunity to exporters to display their products under one roof," he added.
