Directive to curb highway robberies

Sindh Chief Secretary Mohammad Aslam Sanjarani has directed the officials of Home Department as well as of the police to take steps to curb activities of highwaymen, robbers and the gangs which snatch vehicles as well as valuables and mobiles from people in Karachi and the rest of the province.
He further instructed that the concerned officials of the police stations be made responsible for the incidents of snatching and robberies in their jurisdiction and that they should control these.
A local journalist, Ali Kazim, had submitted an application that he was looted by unidentified armed men between the night of July 6 and 7 on the road leading from Nagan Chowrangi to North Karachi. After two days he was again looted at night.
In the first incident, he was deprived of cash of Rs 4,600 and in the second one his wife was deprived of jewellery.
On the application of the journalist, the Chief Secretary sought details of this from the CCPO and directed that steps be taken for the redressal of the compliant in accordance with the law.
