Nouraiz asks oil and gas companies to expand welfare activities

Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Chaudhry Nouraiz Shakoor Khan has asked the oil and gas companies to engage in the exploration and production activities for expanding their network in the respective areas for the betterment of the inhabitants.
He expressed these views while speaking at a function, organised by the Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) in connection with distribution of 100 sewing machines among widows, distribution of 15 computers for the boys' college and establishment of a degree college for boys at the Pindori Oilfields on Friday.
The minister said that the petroleum sector has made revolutionary development during the last four-and-a-half years and it witnessed a record investment in the short span due to the investor-friendly policies of the government.
He expressed the hope that it would continue to grow and flourish in the days ahead. He said: "Pakistan Oilfield Limited is the pioneer company in Pakistan's oil and gas sector and playing a significant role for boosting this vital field of economy."
Chaudhry Nouraiz Shakoor urged the people to fully co-operate with the oil and gas companies engaged in the area in order to bring speedy socio-economic uplift, which would help to alleviate poverty and backwardness of the area.
He announced a donation of Rs 50,000 for the welfare of the workers and assured his continued co-operation for the wellbeing of the people and resolving their problems.
