PML-N demands probe into Kargil and Wana operation

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has on Thursday demanded constitution of inquiry commissions to probe into the Kargil gate, October 12 coup, Wana operation and installation of barbwire on the Line of Control (LoC).
While addressing a press conference, Khawaja Saad Rafique, MNA and PML-N secretary general Punjab, said that it was about time that the guilty persons were exposed and the truth comes out.
He blamed the certain army generals for the overthrowing of the elected government and alleged that many of the army senior brass were kept in the dark on the matter.
He also alleged that the US instigated the October 12 coup and US General Zini used a few Pakistani generals to carry out the coup.
According to him, if the government was right on the Kargil issue, then why it was scared of letting the truth out. By not allowing the commission, the army was trying to save its skin.
The fact was that the Kargil attack was ill planned, as the Kargil planners did not have a retreat plan, thus during the retreat many soldiers were killed. Moreover, Nawaz Sharif was kept in the dark on possible Indian reaction to the Pakistan attack, which could have escalated in to a full-fledge war. The army generals have a lot answer and it should be held accountable for the Kargil gate.
He further alleged that India, in mutual understanding with Pakistan, installed the barbwire on the Line of Control, otherwise it was not possible.
While condemning the bombing of Wana, he said that innocent people were being killed and the army has laid a foundation for a civil war in the country.
