Digital photography fair opens

HP's first digital photography fair opened here at a local hotel on Friday. Punjab Information Secretary Taimur Azmat Osman, who was chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the fair showcasing HP's new digital cameras and the photography technology.
According to organisers of the fair, HP has organised a number of entertaining events at the fair which will introduce this new technology to a growing market in Pakistan and reaffirm HP position as an innovative technology solutions provider to consumers, businesses and institutional globally.
The fair organised by HP in collaboration with Photographic Art Society of Pakistan also featured the winning entries of photographers using digital technology. Over 100 entries were judged with Umair Ghani's 'Moments of Nature's Glory' bagging the first prize followed by five other winning entries while 22 photographers received merit certificates. The information secretary distributed prizes among the top six winners.
Later, talking to newsmen the information secretary said that the provincial government has decided to enact legislation to regulate theaters in the province. He added that the draft of law would soon be presented before the next cabinet meeting.
