The Pak-US Business Council on Sunday hailed the new Trade Policy, and termed it a growth and export-oriented aimed at offsetting the WTO challenges.
Talking to APP here on Sunday afternoon, Council Chairman Iftikhar Ali Malik said the incentive-laden trade policy would help boost the export and achieve export target of $13.7 billion.
He said new trade policy is reflective and continuity of prudent and consistent economic policies being pursued by the President Pervez Musharraf for the last four year, which not only strengthened the national economy.
An excellent package of attractive incentives coupled with relief and concession has been offered to strengthen and promote agro, textile, garment, livestock, and communication sector besides other allied industries.
The setting up of garment cities would play a significant role in competing and capturing the international market.
Iftikhar urged the exporters and traders to take full benefit from the new trade policy and play their due role not only in achieving but surpassing the export target, adding the government has provided healthy and conducive atmosphere to business community.
