Germany has offered investment and co-operation to promote alternative energy sector in Pakistan to help meet the growing energy requirements.
This was stated by the Chairman of Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB), Air Marshal Shahid Hamid (Retd), after a delegation of German companies met him here on Monday.
Chairman, Board of Investment (BoI), Waseem Haqqie, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The chief executive officer of Solar World Company, Frank H Asbeck, Chairman, Nordex Aber Hard, Director EOS Energy Christoph Kuhrt, Managing Director, Phocos, Professor Peter Adelmann, representative of Sunset Solar Oleph, W Flack, and financial advisor, Siemens, Karl Friedrich Hunke, who met Shahid Hamid, are currently visiting Pakistan on invitation of the BoI.
Shahid briefed the delegation about the functions of the Board. The delegation was also informed about the initiatives being launched by the Board for energy production through alternative means.
He informed the delegation that Pakistan has sufficient resources to produce power from alternative resources. He assured the delegation that AEDB would protect the investment of every foreign company in the alternative energy sector.
