'Local government system gives access to justice'

Terming the local government system a success, district Nazim Raja Tariq Mehboob Kiani said that the system has provided people access to easy justice and they are now in a position to get their problems resolved at the local level.
"It has helped to remove bureaucratic obstacles and other hurdles people had to face in the past."
Talking to a delegation of Nazims from different areas, he said that during the past 3 years, 400-kilometre long link roads were constructed in the district in order to reduce distance of villages and provide better communication facilities to people.
The district government has constructed buildings for 52 shelter-less schools, he said and added that 50 high schools for girls and boys have been provided multi-purpose laboratories while 50 computer literacy centres for women have been set up in the women colleges.
He said that additional classrooms have been constructed in many government schools of the district.
He said that 3km long road would be constructed from Sadiot to Gakhar Admal Road, while the middle school of the village will be upgraded to higher level, he announced.
He said after completion of procedural work, the construction of the road would be started on September 1, and no compromise would be made on quality of the work.
He said immediate steps would be taken for the construction of dispensary and mother and childcare health centre.
"We believe on practical steps as the regime of mere announcements has been over now," he added.
Tariq Kiani said the people have seen eminent change after power devolution, as a lot of work is going on for the provision of basic facilities to masses.
He disclosed that new building of the government middle school at Gakhar Admal is in final stage and it would be completed with an expenditure of Rs 1.64 million.
He said that the construction of Sadiot to Gakha Admal Road would cost Rs 3.9 million and more than 60,000 people belonging to 10 localities would benefit from it.
Kiani directed officials of the district to make sure smooth implementation and timely completion of projects.
