Philanthropists urged to help special children

Renowned social worker and artist Jimmy Engineer stressed on the privileged class, artists and sportsmen to come forward to help special children and urged them to contribute their time and money for the welfare of these children.
Addressing a press conference at a local hotel on Monday to announce expansion of his "Fun and Food" program in other South Asian countries, he said the idea will bring a positive change among special children.
Briefing about launching the concept of "Fun and Food" program in other countries, he said that he is going to launch the program in its first phase in Sri Lanka as it is our neighbour and member of the Saarc forum. Five such programs would be arranged in major cities of Sri Lanka from August 21-31, 2004, he added.
He maintained that he intended to hold same kind of "Fun and Food" programs in Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nepal and India.
"I don't want publicity and financial assistance from any country as these programs are held only on humanitarian ground and as a goodwill gesture from Pakistan," he maintained.-PR
