Doctors exonerated in attack cases

Police on Monday discharged Dr Akmal Waheed and Dr Arshad Waheed in corps commander motorcade and ranger van attack cases as no evidence was found against them.
Police submitting final charge sheets against Jundullah activists before Judge Arshad Noor Khan of Anti Terrorism Court stated that no evidence against the doctors was found as they abetted the accused in said cases.
A police report under section 169 Cr. PC was also filed which stated investigation could not find any evidence against the doctors in said cases and they may be exonerated for want of evidence.
Earlier, the police charged them along with nine activists of Jundullah for allegedly attacking on motorcade of Corps Commander of Karachi Lieutenant General Ahsan Saleem Hayat on June 10 in Clifton area, Karachi in which ten people were killed including six army personnel and three policemen and ten others injured.
They, along with Attaur Rehman and Shahzad Ahmed Bajwa, are also charged with attacking on ranger's mobile van attack case in Ferozabad area, Karachi on March 19, 2004 in which two ranger personnel were killed and others injured.
