Aero Asia launches e-ticketing service

28 Jul, 2004

The Aero Asia (Pvt) Ltd and the Citibank announced on Tuesday a pioneering service for the first time in Pakistan, to purchase domestic airline tickets online through an e-ticketing facility. "Citibank is proud to once again fulfill its commitment to introduce products and services that provide convenience to the Pakistani consumer," said Citibank's Consumer Business Manager Ahmed Khizer Khan.
He said: "Our aim continues to be to provide our customers with state of the art value additions that complement their lifestyle."
Through Citibank's payment gateway, an organisation can use the rupee-based 'Internet Merchant Service' facility to accept Visa/MasterCard transactions online.
Since this facility was launched in 2002, various companies from telecom, travel, internet services, charities and retail sectors have taken advantage of this service and provided their customers with a 24-hours a day, seven days a week payment channel.
Besides offering the customer transaction ease, the service is a relatively less costly and an effective sales channel for merchants.
Aero Asia Director Operations' Humza Tabani said, "Aero Asia is proud to be the first and the only private airline which offers a rupee-based e-ticketing facility in Pakistan."
By using Citibank's Internet Merchant Service, Aero Asia can now provide its passengers unmatched benefits and convenience when they purchase their tickets online.
