SHOs directed to eliminate vice dens

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan ordered on Tuesday immediate removal of Station House Officers (SHOs) if any vice den is found operative in their respective areas throughout the province. Presiding over a high level meeting on law & order at Governor House here, Dr Ibad said, "This is last warning to the Station House Officers. The only chance they could be given is to eliminate all the vice dens and obtain a certificate verifying it."
In case the government received any report that there still exist any den of gambling, drugs and obscene films, stern action would be taken under the law against concerned police officials of that area, he issued categorical orders.
Advisor to the Chief Minister for Excise & Taxation M. A. Jalil, Advisor on Local Government Waseem Akhtar, Advocate General Sindh Anwar Mansoor Khan, Principal Secretary to Governor, Brigadier Akhtar Zamin, Additional Chief Secretary Home Syed Anwar Haider, CCPO Tariq Jamil, DIG Operations Fayyaz Leghari, Additional Advocate General Qazi Khalid Ali, Secretary Law Ghulam Nabi Shah and other officials attended the meeting.
Additional secretary home and police officials briefed the governor on steps taken in Lyari and other areas of the city against criminals and other anti social elements.
Governor stressed on strengthening the intelligence network to combat the crimes. He also asked for removal and preventing wall chalking, removal of encroachments and its effective monitoring etc.
