Swimming and bathing banned on beaches

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has imposed ban on swimming, bathing and wading on all beaches, here, under section 144 for a period of seven days immediately. Access or visit to dangerous location for recreation like Sunerah Beach, Mubarak Village Beach, Neelam Point and Cape Mount would be prohibited under section 144.
This step has been taken in view of monsoon season during which sea is very rough and turbulent with extremely high tides and there is an apprehension of loss of life due to swimming and bathing during the season.
Whereas, ban on supply and trade of water through hydrants has been extended for another seven days in the entire city within jurisdiction of the City District Government Karachi (CDGK).
Meanwhile, the City Nazim also extended the ban for another seven days on movement of heavy vehicles within the limits of the city government, which is a major cause of frequent fatal accidents particularly during peak hours.
