The collapse of a hospital building under construction in the Afghan capital has killed at least eight workers and injured 27 others, officials said Tuesday. A Chinese construction company was working on the building in central Kabul when it collapsed on Monday.
"Eight people have died and 27 others were injured in the building collapse," interior ministry spokesman Lutfullah Mashal told AFP. Another 14 workers were still missing, he said.
The reasons for the collapse were still under investigation, but it is thought the scaffolding gave way, causing the walls and roof to crumble, he added.
