Water line bursts at Dhabeji

30 Jul, 2004

A 72-inches diameter concrete pipeline burst on Thursday morning in Dhabeji Pumping Station due to repeated power breakdown, resulting discontinuation of 70 million gallon water to Karachi.
Managing Director Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), Brigadier Iftikhar Haider visited Dhabeji Pumping Station and issued directives for immediate restoration of water supply to the city.
He directed Chief Engineer Ali Muhammad Palejo to supervise the repairing work and report him at every stage. However the KWSB in press release issued on Thursday said that the board has restored water supply with alternate ways to Karachi while repairing work will be completed within 72 hours.
