Government employees to get 15 percent salary raise from August 1

31 Jul, 2004

Accountant General Office Punjab has made all arrangements to include 15 percent raise promised by the government to Punjab government employees in their salaries for July, on August 1, while pensioners have been asked to contact National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) for their 8 to 16 percent increase.
This was stated by Accountant General Punjab, Wazir Ali Qureshi at the weekly open kutchery held in the premises of AG office here on Friday, according to a handout.
All district accounts offices as well as branches of NBP have been directed to ensure prompt payment with the raised salary package to serving and retired employees.
He said cheques for the month of July of employees drawing their salary directly from the bank, with the 15 percent increase, have been received by main branches of the concerned banks.
Likewise, pensioners need not visit the AG office Lahore or any accounts office in their district to avail the 8 to 16 percent raise in pension. They should just contact the NBP branch from where they regularly draw their pension, he added.
