Philippine preliminary coconut oil shipments slid 45 percent to 62,700 tonnes in July compared with actual exports of 114,466 tonnes in the same month last year, an industry group said on Friday.
The initial numbers in July brought the country's exports in the first seven months of the year to 499,088 tonnes, down 24 percent from the 657,915 tonnes in the same period last year, the United Coconut Associations of the Philippines Inc said in a report.
The Philippines is the world's largest exporter of coconut oil, with Europe and the United States major buyers.
