Allottees of Scheme-42 to get plots forthwith

The handing over of the plots to allottees of Hawksbay Scheme-42 under Lyari Development Project will start forthwith and all possible steps will be taken for providing basic necessities in all sectors of the scheme.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of Lyari Development Project held under the chairmanship of project director Shafiqur Rehman Paracha.
The meeting considered the handing over of plots to allottees in sectors 11 and 12. It was informed that possession of plot could be given immediately in sector 11 where road construction work has been completed and other development works will be initiated soon.
It was told that development works in sector 12 are under way, while demarcation of plots is in final stages of completion. Steps were also being taken for construction of roads, sewerage lines and supply of water and electricity.
In the second phase, the basic development works were being undertaken in sectors 26, 27, 26, 26-A, 30, 31 and 32 at a total cost of Rs 19.50 million.
It was informed that construction of dual track road from Grax Village up to the coast (Beach Avenue) has been started to facilitate the allottees of Hawksbay Scheme-42. The 8.5km-long road will cost Rs 170 million and greatly contribute to the development of this entire area.
The allottees of the scheme, particularly that of sectors 11 and 12, were invited to visit the scheme and personally see the ongoing development activity and the provision of facilities and pay their dues immediately to get possession of their plots.
The meeting was told that after rehabilitation of shiftees of the Lyari River in sectors 6, 9 and 10 in Hawksbay Scheme-42, all basic amenities of life have been provided, including water, electricity, sewerage, roads, transport, sports etc while construction of the main road for transport has also been completed.
It was informed that with the shifting of the Lyari River residents to sectors 6, 9 and 10, usual hustle and bustle of life has started and the local population is fast growing.
In view of the fast growth in population, the project has started development works in other sectors of Hawksbay Scheme-42.
The meeting also reviewed the development works at under construction Beach Avenue project at the coast and emphasis was laid on speeding up the pace.
