Wapda's incentive package for consumers

07 Aug, 2004

Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has announced an incentive package for power consumers who are permanently disconnected for a period of five years or more as on June 30, 2004.
According to a press release issued here by Wapda on Friday, these consumers have been allowed to pay 50 percent of the arrears, while the remaining 50 percent arrears would be waived off. After settlement of the arrears, such consumers would be entitled to new connection as per the existing policy.
This incentive package will remain effective up to December 31. The relief, however, will not be applicable to defaulting consumers of Arc/Induction Steel Furnaces.
