IG Prisons warns inefficient officers

IG Prisons Punjab, Khawaja Khalid Farooq has warned that corrupt, inefficient and undesirable officers and officials would not be tolerated in the department.
He issued this warning over charges proved during inquiry against a number of officials who were posted on different duties, disclosed a Punjab Police's spokesman here on Friday.
According to him, IG Prisons terminated the services of Ghulam Shabir, senior clerk sub-jail Chakwal, and Riaz Ahmed, religious teacher posted at District Jail Jehlum, on account of absence for long time from their duties.
Moreover, one-year promotion of Assistant Superintendent Faisalabad Jail Waheed Khan was withheld for negligence of his duty. One-year increment of Assistant Superintendent District Jail Mandi Bahauddin Javed Rasheed was stopped over his misdemeanour with jail inmates.
Strict warning was issued to Siddique Gul of Central Jail Mianwali and Sarfraz Ahmed, storekeeper, over negligence and remaining absent from their duties.
The IG Prisons also issued orders for lowering one stage in pay scale of Assistant Superintendent Central jail Mianwali, Mazhar Hussain and Warden Iqbal Hussain for confining jail inmates more than their awarded imprisonment.
Meanwhile, SP CIA Rana Muhammad Munwar has dismissed Sub-Inspector Ghazanfer Ali of CIA Investing Wing Saddar from service with immediate effect on the charges of corruption and misuse of powers.
Earlier, the above mentioned official was arrested red-handedly by Anti Corruption department and registered a case against him. During inquiry the allegations were found correct and the service of Sub-Inspector Ghazanfer Ali was terminated forthwith.
