EAC holds seminar on WTO pacts on August 26

The Experts Advisory Cell (EAC) of the Ministry of Industries and Production is organising a seminar on "WTO agreements and quality management" on August 26 in collaboration with the Institute of Bankers, here.
The objective of the seminar is to disseminate information on various World Trade Organisation (WTO) agreements and understandings to the target groups, including bankers, industrial stakeholders, businessmen and the government employees.
Resource persons, having in-depth knowledge of the WTO issued and hand on experience of dealing with various agreements, would present papers in the seminar.
The following subjects will be discussed at the seminar:
-- Introduction to the WTO and the Uruguay Agreements.
-- Introduction of General Agreement on Trade in services and major service sectors.
-- Pakistan commitments relating to the financial sector, national and international regulations, rules and standards relating to the banking sector of Pakistan.
-- Industrial standards and international trade: the experience of Pakistan and sanitary and phyto-sanitary measures: the Pakistan experience.
The EAC has invited trade bodies to attend the seminar. A nominal participation fee of Rs 1,000 will be charged per participant to cover the documentation cost, auditorium charges and entertainment.
The amount would be payable in the shape of bank draft or cheque in favour of the EAC.
