LHC office returns petition

08 Aug, 2004

The office of the Lahore High Court (LHC) returned back a petition filed by a PML-N worker Malik Gulzar Ahmed, praying to the court to direct the respondent government not to interfere in the fundamental right of former Chief Minister Punjab and PML-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif who intends to come back to his homeland.
The office of the LHC has observed that the petition is not maintainable hence the petitioner can file the same after the summer vacation, as matter raised in petition did not contain any emergency.
The petitioner's counsel A. K. Dogar objected over the return of petition, and asked the officer concerned to quote relevant rules, which empowered him to return the petition.
He prayed that the case might be placed before any bench of the august court for its disposal in accordance with the law.
