An Interview with Mustafa Majeed Pardesi

09 Aug, 2004

Mustafa Majeed Pardesi has inherited the business instincts from his father Haji Abdul Majeed Pardesi. This young individual has completed his studies from American university, and has emerged as an outstanding businessman exploring new horizons of export business.
With new vision and passion, he supports usage of modern tools and technology in the business environment.
In an interview with Mr Mustafa Majeed, he emphasised on the use of Information Technology, which by all means is a Critical Success Factor in the present business scenario. Many take Information Technology as rampant usage of Internet and email.
Though proper use of Internet and e-mail has earned rewards for the business people, yet Information Technology cannot be confined just to these aspects. It is much more than this, as business needs are related to information, than mere data.
Exploring the newer and finer aspects of the information world, Mr Mustafa stressed the need of the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) and Executive Information Systems (EIS). In this busy world, Top business executives do not have the time to scroll through the entire data and figure out the pertinent information.
Instead, these systems filter the relevant information assisting easy and timely decision making for the Top Management.
Today, especially in the textile sector, this aspect is commonly neglected, and its importance is not yet identified.
Businessmen in the short run are not willing to invest in the IT sector, trading off with much more benefits in the longer run.
One of the major reasons why Business Giants are far ahead is the efficient and timely use of Information Technology, and we can only succeed by adopting the same methodology.
