Thai state-energy firm PTTEP International Ltd has signed a multi-million dollar deal with military ruled Myanmar to explore and develop two new off-shore gas sites, Myanmar energy officials said Sunday.
The two potential gas fields are located next to the Yanada field where PTTEP currently holds a concession and produces natural gas.
A production-sharing contract was signed Saturday in Rangoon in the presence of Thailand's energy minister Prommin Lertsuridej, the president of PTT - the parent of subsidiary PTTEP - and officials from the state-owned Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise, said an official.
