NBP Jamrud to receive sales tax challans and payment

To facilitate the traders of NWFP, the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has designated Jamrud Branch of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) for payment of sales tax on return-cum-challan from/by the registered persons.
This would be 43rd NBP branch designated operating under the jurisdiction of Collectorate of Sales Tax and Central Excise, Peshawar, for the purpose of collection of sales tax.
The CBR has amended SRO.498(I)/2004 through SRO 670(I)/2004 issued here on Monday.
SRO 498(I)/2004 deals with the designated branches of NBP operating in different cities to receive sales tax pertaining to the taxable activity carried out by taxpayers within the jurisdiction of respective collectorate of sales tax.
FOLLOWING IS THE TEXT OF THE NOTIFICATION: In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 6 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Central Board of Revenue is pleased to direct that the following further amendment shall be made in its Notification No. S.R.O. 498(I)/2004, dated the 12th June, 2004, namely:-
In the aforesaid Notification, in column 2, under the heading 'Collectorate of Sales Tax and Central Excise, Peshawar' in column 1, after S. No. 42 and corresponding entries relating thereto in columns 2 and 3, the following new S. No. shall be added, namely:-
'43. Jamrud Branch, Khyber Agency, Peshawar'.
