Four Pakistani and two Dutch climbed 6,200 metre high Mingling Peak of Karakoram range near Shimshal valley.
The six-men expedition led by notable mountaineer, Hasil Shah, Dutch Ambassador and his daughter and three Pakistani trainee climbers (Amir Gul, Mirza Ali and Ali Shah Baig) was originally to scale 7,445-metre Mustaghata Peak in China.
Hasil Shah, who is also a member of Alpine Club of Pakistan, said that they could not make it to the top owing to the inclement weather.
"We then moved to Mingling Sar Peak and conquered it successfully", said Hasil, who has also climbed 6,150-metre Quz Sar Peak, 7,284-metre, 7,027-metre Spantik Golden Peak and 8,035-metre Gasherbrum-II and now plans to climb world's second highest K-2.
He urged Alpine Club to honour the contributions made by climbers belonging to Shimshal.
