A four-year-old Thai boy survived a four-storey plunge onto a roof after climbing over the balcony of his family's 12th floor Bangkok apartment, hospital officials said Friday.
Worawit Klongyuth suffered a broken arm and leg but was otherwise in good spirits and recovering well after the fall Thursday, an official at Bangkok's Sri Diam Hospital told AFP.
The boy, who had been left unattended, was rescued by a security guard who could see the unconscious child lying on a transparent roof, media reported.
"I was frightened but I tried to bring him around by calling him and patting him. Five minutes later he woke up and cried for his mother," the guard was quoted as saying in the Nation newspaper.
