Jakarta stocks ended down on Friday, in line with their regional peers amid a lack of fresh leads and continued weakness in the rupiah currency.
The benchmark index shed 0.3 percent to close at 755.92 points in lethargic trade worth 380.2 billion rupiah ($40.97 million).
Losers led gainers 61 to 35 while 91 issues were unchanged.
Indonesia's fifth-largest bank, PT Bank Danamon Tbk, extended its gains to end at 3,525 rupiah, up 2.17 percent. Foreign buying in Danamon has boosted the shares by almost 37 percent in the past two months.
Danamon owns automotive financing firm PT Adira Dinamika Multi Finance, which it bought recently.
Dealers predicted the index would move in the range of 750-770 points next week in the absence of new leads.
Indonesia's biggest automotive distributor, PT Astra International Tbk, ended up 0.87 percent at 5,800 rupiah. The company reported recently its total vehicle sales grew 7.9 percent in July from a year ago.
