Banks in the country will provide agriculture credit to the tune of Rs 85 billion to the farmers during 2004-05 to help them purchase agricultural inputs and implements.
According to Agriculture Credit Department of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the agri credit targets set for different banks this year are:
1) Allied Bank of Pakistan Limited Rs 3 billion;
2) Habib Bank Limited Rs 10 billion;
3) Muslim Commercial Bank Limited Rs 5 billion;
4)National Bank of Pakistan Rs 15 billion;
5) United Bank Limited Rs 5 billion;
6)Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited Rs 34 billion;
7) Punjab Provincial Coop Bank Rs 3 billion;
8) Askari Commercial Bank Limited Rs 1 billion;
9) Bank Al-Habib Limited Rs 100 million;
10) Bank Al-Falah Limited Rs 500 million;
11) Bolan Bank Limited Rs 400 million;
12) Faysal Bank Limited Rs 250 million;
13) Metropolitan Bank Limited Rs 100 million;
14) Picic Commercial Bank Ltd Rs 100 million;
15) KASB Bank Limited Rs 100 million;
16) Prime Commercial Bank Ltd Rs 200 million;
17) Saudi Pak Commercial Bank Rs 100 million;
18) Soneri Bank Limited Rs 100 million;
19) The Bank of Khyber Rs 150 million;
20) The Bank of Punjab Rs 1.4 billion; and 21) Union Bank Limited Rs 500 million.
