HBFC remitted Rs 43 million so far

The House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC) has so far provided remission of rent and interest to the widows who had obtained loans and made investment up to Rs 10 million, officials of the HBFC said.
Under this scheme, the HBFC remitted over Rs 43 million to 5.917 widows.
Official sources said that the corporation has provided Rs 1,759 million to 28 development authorities and private sector organisations. Giving up to date performance, they said the corporation has provided over Rs 0.3 million as flood and rain relief loans.
The corporation since its inception in 1952 to date has financed Rs 31,278 billion for the construction and purchase of over 427,000 housing units.
