Next 6 months crucial for PIA: Saeed

Chairman of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Ahmed Saeed on Thursday said that next six month are crucial for PIA.
Speaking in a local TV programme, he said PIA has never faced difficult situation like this in past three years.
He said PIA is facing difficult situation due to high fuel prices in the international market which never reached to this extent in past.
He said PIA may consider to increase its fare if the prices of fuel do not decrease.
However, he said PIA is also decreasing its expenditure through cost cutting and automation.
In response to a question he said decision taken by the Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain for free transportation of the bodies of Pakistanis by PIA from all stations world-wide is good one and it will be implemented with true spirit.
He said decision was taken in view of a long outstanding demand for such a facility by Pakistani expatriates.
He said decision to transport bodies free from aboard will not bring any extra burden on PIA.
All credit for it goes to Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as it was his initiative to introduce free transportation of bodies, he added.
In response to a question, he said all the General Managers and Mangers abroad have been issued directives to facilitate the people who ask for this facility.
