Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has appreciated the contributions made by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) for successfully holding K-2 golden jubilee celebrations and 51st anniversary of Nanga Parbat.
In an appreciation letter to the Federal Secretary for Culture and Tourism Syed Jalil Abbas and Managing Director PTDC Malik Mohammad Habib Khan, the Prime Minister stated, "It was indeed a matter of great pleasure and satisfaction for holding the inaugural session in a befitting manner in connections with the celebrations of golden jubilee of K-2 and 51st anniversary of Nanga Parbat."
In the present scenario, especially after 9/11 whence the tourism sector was badly affected and was in recession, the holding of such event would be positive step in eradicating the misconception of security risks and concerns.
This was only possible with the relentless efforts and dedications of the cause by the team of professionals under your dynamic leadership. These events not only serve as an image projection source about Pakistan possessing rich heritage but also incite the adventures from all over the world for climbing series of lofty mountains and tolling peaks located in Pakistan.
Further to add here, it was a matter of immense rejoice to learn that large number of mountaineers and trackers across the world have come to Pakistan specially to take part in the golden jubilee celebrations which by all stands was a healthy sign in promotion of adventure tourism. The holdings of such festivals would surely boost tourism sector in Pakistan.
Please convey my well wishes to all who remained associated with the golden jubilee celebrations of K-2 and 51st anniversary of Nanga Parbat."
